A crab-eating Macaque, Edger is 13 years old, whose former owner drove his truck around Niagara Falls with the windows wide open and the monkey on top, invited tourists to have photos taken with the animal. The owner was eventually attacked by the monkey and about a month later, he was re-attacked but this time, he was unable to control the animal and he called 911 for help. The monkey was removed by the Fire Department and taken to the Niagara County SPCA, which asked the sanctuary to temporarily house him. A judge ordered the owner to either donate the monkey to the sanctuary or euthanize him and he chose to give him to the sanctuary.
